The big rewards come to those who travel the second undemanded mile. ~Bruce Barton

Matthew 5:41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

During the holidays, we are very focused on doing things for other people. What if we were able to extend this throughout the entire year?

Example of going that extra mile:

Mary's husband has died, and she is left with 3 small children. She works full time and cares for the family alone, day in and day out. She asks you if you would mind sitting with the children for a couple of hours while she goes to the movies for a chance to get away for a bit. You as a friend could agree to sit with the children, and to go the extra mile, you could gather the children together and teach them how to bake cookies. In the process, you cook up and package 3 or 4 batches for the childrens school lunches.

Why do we wait till the holidays to do what we have been created to do? Be the friend, neighbor, helper and cookie baker. Do it just because you can.

Merry Christmas,

Georgia

Dancing in the rain...

Been thinking about all the rain lately…People react very differently to a rainy day. Some look out the window and see the rain as refreshing and cleansing… a cool drink of water for the parched landscape. They are GRATEFUL.
Others look out the same window and lament the mess it makes and the dreary gray skies that accompany the rain.

It’s all about ATTITUDE! Lately, I’ve seen a number of plaques, plates, and pictures with a great quote from Vivian Green…”Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass…it’s about learning to dance in the rain!” Just in this last week here in Houston, if you were waiting for clear blue skies, you missed a lot of chances to “dance in the rain”.
